New vehicle for community responders
We’re proud to be part of the communities we work in and it’s very important to us to give something back.
That’s why we’re thrilled to have been able to donate a brand new car to Shrewsbury’s Community First Responders.
The responders are often first on the scene of a medical emergency while an ambulance makes its way there and can provide life-saving treatment to a casualty before paramedics arrive to take over.
They are all volunteers who provide a vital service in the town and they’ve never had their own vehicle before so it’s great to have been able to step in and help.
The group approached us through one of our driver managers Steve, whose partner Danielle is a responder.
When he told us about the work they did, we were more than happy to help them out and it’s great to know our vehicle is out there helping them to do their life-saving work.
As well as getting the responders to where they need to be quickly, we hope the car will attract some attention for them when they’re out and about and raise awareness of these volunteers and what they do.
It’s certainly better than them taking their own cars to emergencies which they had been doing previously.
